Precious Blood Parish Missions

Precious Blood Parish Missions sends teams of preachers - usually one priest, one sister and one lay person - to parishes throughout North America to proclaim the Good News of our salvation in Christ and through his Precious Blood.  Currently, we offer three different themes for our missions:

Proclaiming Abundant Love reminds us that we are people of the covenant, people of the cross, people reconcilied in the blood of the cross, and people of the cup.  This mission can be celebrated in English, Spanish or both.

Celebrating Unbounded Mercy reminds us that we are reconciled with ourselves, with our neighbors and with God, and that we are called to be ambassadors of reconciliation in our world today.

Gathering at the Lord's Table reminds us of the gift that is the Eucharist and our calling to be gathered, to let the word of God speak to our hearts, to offer ourselves with the sacrifice of Christ, and to be sent forth to make a difference in the world.

We offer each of these in two different Mission Formats

A Parish Mission - Beginning with preaching at all the weekend Masses, followed by four major celebrations - each about an hour and fifteen minutes long - with a special liturgy of the word and activity for children - usually celebrated four evenings in a row: Sunday thru Wednesday or Monday thru Thursday.

A Weekend Retreat - Beginning Saturday morning and ending with Mass on Sunday morning.  The same four celebrations that would be part of the parish mission take place during the retreat.

Videos

In early March 2020, Rev. Dennis Chriszt, C.PP.S. and Companion Mrs. Gretchen Bailey preached a parish mission at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Rogers, AR - Celebrating Real Presence. The mission was celebrated over two days - three sessions on Saturday and one on Sunday.  The mission was celebrated in English and Spanish.  The following videos contain all of the parts of the celebration that were celebrated bilingually and the Liturgy of the Word and preaching in English.  The Liturgy of the Word and preaching in Spanish were not recorded - sorry!

[Note: Fr. Dennis is seated most of the time, since he had an open wound on the bottom of his foot at the time.]

The first session - Celebrating Real Presence in the Assembly Gathered - is available on YouTube.  It is divided into five unedited videos:

  1. Introductory Rite
  2. Liturgy of the Word - Part 1
  3. Liturgy of the Word - Part 2
  4. Ritual
  5. Concluding Rite

The second session - Celebrating Real Presence in the Word Proclaimed - is available on YouTube.  It is divided into six unedited videos:

  1. Introductory Rite
  2. Liturgy of the Word
  3. After Discussion
  4. Intro to Ritual
  5. Ritual
  6. Concluding Rite

Videos of the other sessions will be available in the not too distant future.  So, check back to see what has been added.
